Summer Day Camp 2015

An African Safari Summer

11:30 am to 6 pm Mon. – Fri. at the Floresville Event Center Gym
Ages 5 – 13
Every week we will learn about the different countries of Africa by immersing into their culture through foods, reading, arts and crafts, movies and sports. Lunch will be served at 11:30.

June 8th – 12th – Let’s go visit Capetown, South Africa and learn what a kudu, Springbok, Oryx and Gemsbok are.

June 15th -19th –. We are going to visit and learn about Gorillas in the Virunga Mountains of Uganda, Rwanda.

June 22nd – 26th – We will be going on safari across Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya learning about all the different types of wildlife and learning about the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.

June 29th – July 3rd – Did you know that in Djenne, Mali there is the biggest mud-built building in the world? We are going to visit Timbuktu and learn about gold and salt mines.

July 6th – July 10th– We will be exploring the pyramids of Egypt and learning about Egyptian foods and customs.

July 20th – 24thMeet the tribes of Omo River Region in Ethiopia.

July 27th – 31stWe will travel to Marrakech, Morocco and learn the art of leather work.

August 3rd – 7thWe are going to visit the island Zanzibar, off the coast of Tanzania and learn about one of our highest peaks, Mount Kilimanjaro.

August 10th – 14thLet us not forget visiting Madagascar!
